1. Overview
True North Hospitality LLC, doing business as Olea Lane (“Olea Lane,” “we,” “us,” and “our”), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this privacy policy (“Policy”). This Policy applies to the website at www.olealane.com and related pages (the “Site”), our communications with you, and the hospitality strategy, venue-partnership, and event services we provide (together, the “Services”).
This Policy applies when you interact with us through the Site or the Services, and anywhere it is linked. It does not apply to third-party websites, venues, or services that link to the Site or that we link to from the Site. Review those parties’ policies directly.
This Policy describes the types of information we may collect, and our practices for collecting, using, keeping, protecting, and disclosing that information.
Please read this Policy before you use the Site. If you do not agree with it, do not use the Site. By using the Site, you acknowledge this Policy.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top will change when we do. Your continued use of the Site after an update is your acknowledgment of the revised Policy. Please check this page periodically.
Additional information for residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia, and for individuals in Canada, the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, appears in the sections below.
2. The types of information we collect and how we collect it
We collect information from you directly, from the devices you use to visit the Site, and, when relevant to an engagement, from clients, venues, and vendors you ask us to work with. We may combine information from the Site with information in our business records. We may use information that we aggregate or de-identify so that it cannot reasonably be linked to you.
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you provide it
- Through our communications with you
- From clients, venues, or vendors in connection with a program you have asked us to support
- When you use the Site
- Automatically as you move through the Site
Information you provide
This may include:
- Contact and professional details, such as name, email address, telephone number, job title, and company or venue
- The nature of your inquiry, including a venue partnership, a corporate or agency event, or a general question
- Program details you choose to share, such as dates, location, guest count, and budget range
- Messages, files, guest lists, agendas, vendor contacts, and billing details needed to plan or deliver work we have agreed to do
- Information you provide if you apply to work with us
- Any other information you submit
We do not ask for payment card numbers through the Site. If an engagement is invoiced, payment details are handled by our bank or payment processor, not stored on the Site.
Information collected automatically
This may include:
- The Internet Protocol address and domain associated with your visit
- Browser type and operating system
- Date and time of the visit
- Pages viewed and the site you came from
- Cookies, which are small text files a web server places on your browser so the Site can function and so we can understand aggregate use
The Site may use the analytics tools provided by our website platform. We use those tools to see which pages are visited. We do not use them to build advertising profiles or to run cross-site ad campaigns. If that changes, we will update this Policy.
3. How we use information and why
We use information for these purposes:
- To present the Site and respond to inquiries
- To evaluate a venue partnership or event request and prepare a proposal
- To plan, coordinate, and deliver Services we have agreed to provide, including working with venues and vendors you ask us to involve
- To carry out and enforce agreements, including billing
- To send administrative messages about an active inquiry or engagement
- To tell you about changes to the Site or the Services
- To send occasional notes about our work, if you have asked to hear from us
- To improve the Site and the Services
- To protect the Site and our practice
- To meet legal, insurance, and accounting obligations
- For any other purpose we describe when you provide the information, or with your consent
Site statistics are compiled into traffic reports so we can see which pages are useful. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet legal and insurance obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Inquiry records are kept long enough to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Client and vendor files are typically kept for up to seven years after an engagement, unless a longer period is required.
4. How we protect your information
We use administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small professional practice, including limited access and reputable hosting. The internet is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information in transmission or in storage, and we are not responsible for circumvention of security measures on the Site.
Please do not send government identification numbers or payment card numbers through the Site form.
5. When we share your information
We may disclose information as described in this Policy:
- To contractors and service providers that host the Site, deliver email, store files, or support billing, and only so they can perform those services
- To venue and vendor partners when you have asked us to source or coordinate a gathering, and only the details required for that purpose
- To a buyer or successor in connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of the practice, including related due diligence
- To fulfill the purpose for which you provided it
- With your consent
- To comply with a court order, law, or legal process
- To enforce our agreements
- If we believe disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Olea Lane, our clients, or others
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Third parties providing services on our behalf
We use third parties to host the Site, operate form and email delivery, and handle ordinary business administration. We may disclose information to those companies so they can carry out those tasks. They are expected to use the information only to provide services to us and to keep it confidential.
7. Information from children under 16
The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn that a child under 16 has provided information, we will delete it.
If you are under 16, do not use the Site or send us your name, telephone number, or email address. If you believe we have received information about a child under 16, email hello@olealane.com.
8. Links to other websites and services
We are not responsible for the practices of websites or services linked from the Site, including venues and partners. This Policy does not apply to them.
9. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. The Site does not currently respond to those signals.
10. Your choices
If you choose not to provide information, we may be unable to respond to an inquiry or perform the Services. If you no longer wish to receive notes about our work, use the unsubscribe link in the message or email hello@olealane.com. We may still send non-promotional messages about an active inquiry or engagement.
11. Job applicants
If you apply to work with us, we may collect information you submit with your application, information you make public, and information you authorize us to collect from references. If you apply through a third-party posting service, that service’s policy applies to the application you submit there.
12. Your California privacy rights
The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives California residents rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. 15. Your Canada rights
If you are in Canada, we process information based on your express or implied consent unless an exception applies. You may withdraw consent, which may limit our ability to respond or perform the Services.
Information may be processed in the United States, where laws differ from those in Canada. Our practices remain governed by this Policy. You may request access to your information, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
16. Exercising your rights
